Dining Spotlight: Exploring Nolan’s on 33rd
Whether you’re in the mood for a customizable bowl, international cuisine, or a quick snack between classes, Hopkins Dining offers an array of on-campus dining options across multiple locations that are designed to meet the varied tastes and dietary needs of the JHU community. This article will focus on one of our most popular venues: Nolan’s on 33rd.
Located in the heart of Scott-Bates Commons, Nolan’s on 33rd offers a wide array of choices to satisfy every Blue Jay. As one of Homewood’s all-you-care-to-eat facilities, guests can dine at the location using their meal plan*, debit/credit card, or J-Cash.
When guests enter Nolan’s on 33rd, they’re warmly greeted by Hopkins Dining staff members. Feel free to ask questions (about menu offerings, allergen information, etc.) and share feedback with the dining team; we’re happy to help! The location features a spacious dining room and outdoor patio for additional seating. In terms of food options, here’s a look different stations that are available to guests:
B.Y.O.B. (Build-Your-Own Bowl)
The B.Y.O.B station features a rotating lineup of fun, customizable concepts including pasta bars, baked potato bars, grain bowls, and stir-fry options. New to the station’s lineup this year: Korean and Indian cuisine.
Nourish
Nourish sits at the intersection of flavorful and nutritious foods, offering thoughtfully prepared, nutrient-dense meals. Each meal features a unique protein, whole grains, and colorful sides that make for a deliciously balanced meal. View our Nourish the Nest Guidebook for more information.
Flattop (Grill)
Flattop showcases locally sourced, Halal-certified beef burgers and antibiotic-free Halal-certified grilled chicken. This station also offers turkey burgers, plant-based burgers, a daily vegan protein, rotating chef’s specials, and a daily selection of fried potatoes. Guests can also request made-to-order sandwiches from this station during lunch and dinner.
Scratch Fired (Pizza)
Enjoy piping hot pizzas—crafted with locally made scratch dough, vibrant toppings, and Halal-certified meats—straight from our large stone hearth oven. Guests can complete their experience with freshly baked breads. In the upcoming year, guests can look forward to unique pizza specials including chicken tikka pizza and pickle pizza!
Salad, Fruit & Bagel Bar
This station features a rotating selection of fresh greens, toppings, and dressings for guests to build their own salads. At the fruit bar, enjoy fresh seasonal fruit, Greek yogurt, and Grandy Oats Granola, which is certified organic and gluten free. There’s also a variety of bagels, breads, spreads, and deli meats—perfect for building customized sandwiches. All turkey served at this station is Halal-certified.
In addition to the stations mentioned above, guests have the option to make their own omelets, waffles, or stir-fry bowls.
