IT Services provides various computing and technology resources for students, faculty, and staff on the Homewood campus.

Wireless Campus Networks

There are several secure, high-speed wireless networks available across the Homewood campus for use by students, faculty, staff, and guests. In addition, Johns Hopkins has become a participating member of the Eduroam program, which offers a secure, worldwide network access service developed for the international research and education community. All Johns Hopkins faculty, staff, and students may use this service here at JHU and anywhere in the world it is available—for free! Visit the JHU IT website to learn more about Johns Hopkins’ wireless offerings and how to get connected.

Email

Through Microsoft 365, Johns Hopkins provides students with a powerful, protected, and integrated messaging and collaboration environment. With Office 365, students can easily access email from a variety of devices, send messages securely, and search for other users in the address book. In addition, each user gets 30GB of virtual file storage and collaboration space in the cloud. Learn more about Office 365 email.

Printing Credit Pilot Program

For the 2024–25 academic year, all KSAS and WSE undergraduate students will have a $4.00 “printing credit” allocated to their J-Cash account. The status of the printing credits can be viewed in the Transact e-Accounts app, available on the iOS App Store or Google Play. Please note that the printing credit balance will not be displayed at the Pharos Print Station—you must use the e-Account apps to view the balance. The credits can be used at any STAR or Sheridan Libraries printer on the Homewood campus and unused credits will expire at the end of the academic. Questions or feedback can be submitted here.

Mobile Printing

There is a one-time setup process:

  • Send an email to [email protected] with the document you wish to print attached to the email.
  • You will receive an email response. Click on the link to register your email address. Log in with your JHED ID (jdoe1) and password.
  • Your email will be automatically activated. Click okay to end the registration process. Please DO NOT pick a job or a printer to print at the registration link.
  • You are now finished. Please do not use the print center website to print a job; refer to the email addresses above.

You can now print at any Homewood location by emailing the file you wish to print to a mobile printing email:

After emailing your file, you will receive a confirmation email. Then just go to any printer and swipe your J-Card as usual!

myCloud

With myCloud, you can access all your favorite apps from any PC, Mac, smartphone, or tablet—24/7!

OneDrive

OneDrive is the personal cloud storage component of Microsoft’s Office 365 suite that allows users to store and share documents and files from any device with an internet connection. In addition to 25GB of free storage space per user, OneDrive also allows you to share documents with colleagues easily—even those who may not be affiliated with Johns Hopkins or have JHED accounts. You can access your OneDrive account by logging into the myJH Portal and selecting the OneDrive quick link under “Cloud” apps.

ResNet

The Student Residential Network—ResNet for short—is a free high-speed internet service available to Johns Hopkins students living in university housing.

The Sheridan Libraries

The Sheridan Libraries is the university’s principal research library and the largest in a network of libraries at Johns Hopkins. Its collection numbers over 3.7 million volumes and offers an extensive array of electronic resources, including full-text books and journals, specialized databases, and statistical and cartographic data.

Creative Media Center

Located in the Bloomberg Student Center on the Homewood campus, the Creative Media Center is a multimedia lab space as well as an equipment, printing, and knowledge resource for students interested in exploring creative uses of emerging media and technology to communicate their ideas.
